The modern Indonesian Army armored corps is spearheaded by the powerful Cold War-era German Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank (MBT) with over 100 on hand. Beyond this the force is a highly mobile component of Indonesian fighting strength, built around both wheeled and tracked solutions. There are some Cold War-era holdovers whose best days are clearly behind them but a concerted effort has been made to modernize the force to include solutions such as MRAPs, fast-attack vehicles, and ranged self-propelled vehicles.
