Modernization is underway for a select few (though key) systems to keep the service at-the-ready for current and emerging regional threats.

NOTES: The IAF maintains 42 French Dassault Rafale multirole fighters on order and an additional 12 M2000 fighter-bombers. Six more South Korean KAI T-50 light attack platforms are also expected. A pair of French MRTT aerial tanks are on order, these built on the A400M airfrmae.
